Background

The Light of the World community Centre is a Vibrant hub of activities in West Bowling, Bradford.

We have set up a variety of services in line with our vision for:

• The Relief of Poverty
• The relief of sickness
• The advancement of Education for children and adults in the community
• Quality childcare
• The provision of recreational and community facilities
• Care for the Elderly and support for community development and cohesion.

The community Centre is open 51 weeks of the year, from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Our services are set up to meet the needs of the culturally diverse community that we serve.

We welcome suggestions and ideas that will improve our services.

We provide a support service for the Hungry and Homeless in Bradford every Wednesday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. This project provides the homeless with nutritious hot meals, desserts, teas and Coffee, and at times clothing, blankets and a bag of groceries to take away with them.

The Esol Class that is run every Tuesday from 10.00 am to 12.00noon provides much needed support for ESOL learners which includes a job search and CV writing facility.
